Brands have moved with important initiatives, and among them is an interesting initiative designed by Vans together with some international photographers. June is the month in which many Italian and global cities celebrate Pride, supporting the struggle for the rights of the LGBTQIA+ community. The “story” is so masterly performed that we can define Fuocoammare a mix between documentary and art, it has in fact scored many prizes as well as an Oscar nomination and a gold bear at the Berlin film festival. The particularity of this movie is that it is realized in animations which is a completely new approach.įucoammare: this Italian documentary directed by Gianfranco Rosi, shows a glimpse of the life in Lampedusa, where numerous migrants arrive every day. Tower: this documentary, directed by Keith Maitland, describes the events which hit the University of Texas in 1966 when a gunman named Charles Whitman opened fire killing 16 students. The director, unwilling to simply show Carrey’s work, focuses principally on the consequences that such interpretation had on the actor’s life. Jim and Andy: this documentary, directed by Chris Smith, follows Jim Carrey while interpreting Andy Kaufman in Man on the Moon (a film by Milos Forman). The director Bryan Fogel (an amateur biker) begins investigating on how easy it is to get doped ending with the unmasking of the Russian government’s big secret. Icarus: The “Icarus” documentary is a study about the use of doping in sports. The real strength of this work is the German director’s approach: the narration is divided into chapters, from the start of the first internet to its use the latest technologies. Lo and Behold: After several years of experiencing documentaries, Warner Herzog‘s latest one analyses the internet and how technology is affecting our lives. Here you can find a list of the 5 best (in our opinion) documentaries that you can find on Netflix Every year lots of directors approach to the genre of documentary.
